We are groundbreakers,
innovators and engineers

We’re a principal contractor with an integrated M&E operating model, delivering construction, retrofit, and low-carbon projects across residential, commercial, and public sectors. Built for complexity and trusted for delivery.

Our story

Mountain Earth was built on a belief that construction could be done differently, with more ownership, more transparency, and more care for what’s left behind. We’re a principal contractor with an integrated M&E operating model, shaped by decades of experience delivering complex projects across the UK and internationally. Our team comes from Tier 1 environments without the layers of decision-making. We stay close to every project, solve problems early, and take responsibility from day one.

WHY "MOUNTAIN EARTH"?

Our name means something. The Mountain is the challenge: the project, the pressure, the moving parts. The Earth is what we’re building on, and what we’ll leave behind.  A reminder that how we build matters just as much as what we hand over to future generations.

HOW WE WORK

Our values and approach

Our people

The best delivery takes the best people. We’ve built a team that works hard, works smart, and looks out for each other. No drama, no ego, just people who care about doing the job properly. That’s who we hire, that’s who we are.

"Mountain Earth is a fantastic place to grow for anyone, no matter your background or experience. What I enjoy most is the variety of work and the chance to solve real engineering challenges that contribute to meaningful outcomes. We’re actively involved in decarbonising buildings, which makes the work both impactful and future-focused. As the business continues to grow, there’s a strong sense of momentum and opportunity, you’re trusted to take ownership, supported by a team that values collaboration and continuous learning."

Tom Giles

Operations director

Tom is an experienced Civil Engineer with over two decades of vertically integrated Tier 1 delivery across the UK and Australia. He’s led large, technically complex projects in engineering, science, tech, healthcare, and commercial sectors, in live or constrained environments, where pressure is constant and coordination is critical. Tom brings structure, focus, and real ownership to every stage of delivery. He joined Mountain Earth to help build something unique: a business led by people who stay close to the work and hold the line on quality, where delivery means more than just getting the job done. His role goes beyond operations. Tom helps shape the culture and governance that sets the tone for how Mountain Earth shows up on site. A trusted leader and calm operator, he brings consistency and accountability to every project, with a clear focus on doing the job properly and bringing his team with him.

“Joining Mountain Earth has been an incredibly rewarding experience. After relocating from Australia with seven years of commercial construction experience, I feel fortunate to be part of such a dynamic and forward-thinking team. The opportunity to contribute to their flagship project in Manchester City Centre, and to bring my experience into a company that's growing rapidly, has been both exciting and motivating. Mountain Earth values experience, trusts its people, and creates an environment where you feel genuinely supported to make an impact."

SITE MANAGER

Sam Heyes

MANAGING director

Sam has almost 20 years of experience delivering complex construction projects across the UK and Australia, from high-end residential to major infrastructure and commercial schemes. He built his reputation in Tier 1 contracting, leading large teams and earning the trust of clients, partners, and stakeholders alike. In 2020, he founded Mountain Earth, not with financial backing or a ready-made pipeline, but with a clear belief that construction could be delivered better. He set out to build a business that’s lean, accountable, and led from the front, with fewer layers, tighter control, and a stronger connection between teams, clients, and outcomes. Today, that’s still how he leads: sleeves rolled up, close to the work, and setting the tone for a team that takes pride in doing things right.

“I feel like I've joined Mountain Earth at a really exciting time, the business is growing fast but staying true to its values. For me, it’s about building long-term relationships with suppliers who share our standards. We want partners who take pride in their work, communicate clearly, and care about delivering the job properly. That’s how we build trust and how we keep raising the bar on site.”

As a strong communicator and trusted lead, Oliver builds confidence with clients and stakeholders alike, making sure they feel informed, supported, and in safe hands from day one. At Mountain Earth, he leads construction delivery across key projects and frameworks. He’s hands-on, solutions-led, and focused on building a team culture where quality is a shared responsibility, and getting the job done properly isn’t up for negotiation.

"My time at Mountain Earth has been both character-building and educational. I’ve learned that success isn’t measured by results alone, but also by the way you carry yourself. As a young member of staff, attitude is key to standing out and building a successful future.I've been encouraged to see that the focus isn't on perfection, but on the determination and resilience you show when faced with a challenge, and I’ve been fortunate to have supportive people around me who recognised when I needed guidance the most and encouraged me when I achieved my goals."

sustainability

Our commitment

We don’t treat sustainability as an added extra. It’s embedded in how we price, plan, and deliver every job. Across structure or services; whether we’re retrofitting existing stock or building something new, our approach is pragmatic.

We focus on what works: cutting waste, avoiding over-engineering, and helping clients hit environmental targets without driving up cost or complexity. It’s about building smarter, not just greener, and designing for how a space will be used, maintained, and operated over time.

Whether we’re improving a building’s energy use, selecting better materials, or planning for easier maintenance down the line, we make reducing your carbon footprint feel tangible. Not to tick boxes, but to solve real problems. We specialise in Decarbonisation projects, responsible material use, and engineering-led solutions that make environmental impact a core part of project delivery. Not a nice-to-have, and not someone else’s job.

Because if we’re not building for the future, what are we doing?
